Hurtigruten – Norway
A dream come true! Wouldn’t you like to sail through the breathtaking fjords of the Norwegian coast on an old post ship?
HeimatErde gives you a pendant that offers space for what is truly important to you: sand, soil, grass or ashes – you decide what goes inside. The pendant is delivered empty and can be easily filled by you. Choose between two sizes, three materials and optionally with a small diamond in your desired position.
After studying at the Hanauer Zeichenakademie, I spent two years working in the coastal town of Swakopmund in the middle of the Namib Desert.
During this stay, the question kept coming up in my mind: What is home? Who is home? Where is home? And so the idea of HeimatErde was born. For me, the answer is: home is a feeling. It is the people who surround it, the emotions and the memories.
Inspired by my experiences, I developed the concept of designing a small ‘globe’ with personal content – minimalistic, but deeply meaningful.
That was the beginning of HeimatErde! Her journey began in 2012 and since then she has been touring the world with many enthusiastic customers.
‘Since 2014, I have been carrying my HeimatErde pendant with me filled with some of my dog’s ashes. It feels really good not only to wear this pendant, but also to actively have filled it.’
Open the screw cap and fill the southern hemisphere with soil from your home country, for example.
To close the pendant, slide the northern hemisphere over the pin so that the spike of the northern hemisphere fits into the groove of the southern hemisphere.
To close the pendant, push the ring back through the hole.
One globe was filled with moss from Table Mountain in Cape Town and then travelled across Africa. Another was filled with the ashes of a loved one…
The first person to send in a picture of the South Pole with their own HeimatErde will receive a 0.01ct brilliant-cut diamond – set at the South Pole!
